In the modern society, making a right decision seems to be extremely difficult. People insist different ways of thinking, particularly in politics and religions. It was a sensational news when the US President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden was dead. However, it is a big question now whether or not it was a legal action no matter how many people were relieved by the fact. Why nations or religions fight with each other when everybody seeks peace?! How can we stop enmity and start a goodness? This question brings you to the starting point what the purpose of our life is, and how we can assure common welfare while protecting individual human rights and happiness. The United States Declaration of Independence states, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." This short phrase resonates in our heart, and inspires us to secure peace for next generations. Let's envision One Family under God - living in peace and harmony as one world family beyond races and religions, we can forgive and embrace one another, one step at a time. |
